Car Free Day (CFD) in Jakarta, Indonesia

Jakarta is the capital city of Indonesia. The Metropolitan city of Jakarta is known as the central government of Indonesia as well as business central. There are so many people live in Jakarta and bad traffic is one of the biggest problem the city has. However, the situation bit slight different on Sunday morning.

A local government of Jakarta initiative to help reduce pollution and come out with the idea of Car Free Day. Based on this regulation, DKI government hold Car Free Day (CFD) every Sunday morning. The Car Free Day (CFD) start from 6 am to10 or 11 am. There are only two road effect by this activities. Thus area are include Sudirman road and MH.Thamrin road.


What are in Car Free Day (CFD) Jakarta?

Car Free Day (CFD) is the place were people could have their sport activity in wide open space without being scared of vehicles or being polluted by vehicle smoke. Many sport activities you can doing there from jogging, cycling, running, playing badminton etc.  Moreover, in Car Free Day (CFD) in Indonesia especially Jakarta there more things to enjoy.

Car Free Day (CFD) offer variety of food culinary as well as events for hangout for young people or oldest. Along the road, you could see many street cart or booth which sell foods, drink, clothes, accessories hand phone, craft, KPOP poster and many more. It just like night market but in the day light time. Everything you could found in CFD even the strings and needles. Yes, I found there!

The foods which offer in CFD is also have a lot of variety from traditional Indonesian foods, modern foods, western food, snack, kue (cake) and Indonesian gorengan (fritters). The prices range is moderate (not expensive) but sometime negotiable bargain is needed for certain products.
